What students should be working on ongoing at home:

Thursday

As you're child probably told you, we've written letters of thanks and appreciation to a man in Nova Scotia who made the news this weekend for helping an older woman off of a plane after it crashed in Halifax. There were lots of reasons we chose to write these letters, but mainly it was because we saw this man as humble and modest, and a welcome and worthy role model in a world of people on the internet desperate for attention and admiration at any cost. This man did something admirable and wasn't asking for admiration, which in my book is a very good lesson for young people to learn. Walk the walk, don't just talk the talk.

I've been in touch with the CBC reporter who filed the story. The class and I have been chatting with him quite a bit on Twitter. Some of the most recent exchange is below. (We're all super excited by the way!!!!)
