Speeches
Public Speeches were assigned today.
They are due in class on February 9, with the speeches in the gym on February 11.
Every student must hand in a speech, but only students interested in trying to go to the gym must speak in front of the class.
Topics are students choice, though I am encouraging them to write a persuasive speech, one that makes an argument (Example: 'Why make-up should not be tested on animals' is a richer and deeper topic than 'What I did on my summer vacation')
Poetry
We have been writing poems in class for the past few days.
Good copies are due to me by the end of the day Thursday.
Science
Science projects for the grade 6's are due on March 2.
Drama
In class, we are putting on the play Romeo and Juliet. Every student has a part, some are onstage and some are backstage. Students should be memorizing their lines. The play will be staged in three weeks, exact date coming soon. It will be in the afternoon, in front of the school. Parents will be invited to attend.
