How to Write a Mystery Story
1. Where does the story take place?

2. What is the crime?

3. Who committed the crime?

4. Who solves the crime?

5. The criminal must be introduced earlier on in the story. When/how are they introduced?

6. There should be at least one (or more)  characters that are not the criminal, but could be. Who are these characters.

7. The clues should become more specific and obvious as the story goes on. What are three clues in the story?

8. How is the crime solved?

The first line of this story should be:
The day started out just like any other.




How to Write a Love Story
1. Where does the story take place?

2. Who are the two main characters?

3. How old are they?

4. The characters should meet at some point early on. How do they meet?

5. They should start to fall in love early on. How does that happen?

6. There should be a major problem that prevents them from being together.  It should really seem like they might never be together again. What is this major problem?

7. One of the two characters should do something great to solve the problem.  Who solves it?

8. How do they solve it?

9. They should end up together in the end. How does this happen?

The first line of the story should be:

How  Write an Adventure Story
1. The main character should not be a hero yet, just an ordinary person. Describe this person.


2. The main character should have some sort  of skill or strength that seems normal now, but will come in handy later. What are these skills?

3. There should be a major event/problem that happens that causes this person to go on their adventure. What is the problem?

4. There should be three main parts to the adventure. Each one should be different, each one should be exciting, and each one should challenge the main character. The main character should solve each challenge using the skills already mentioned. (strength, smarts, skills, etc...)

5. How is the major problem/event solved?

6. How does the story end?
